International Women’s Day – Can we speak about rights of Men too?

I was recently invited to a Panel Discussion on NDTV India where the topic of discussion was “Crime on Women: Have situations changed?”(http://www.ndtv.com/video/player/prime-time/video-story/267869) The discussion was being held on international Women’s Day and I indeed celebrated the absolute extreme view of womanhood. This was the second time I was invited by this channel, first time being the One Billion Rising event day (http://www.ndtv.com/video/player/prime-time/video-story/265005?hp ). Since the anchor gave me very less time to speak and was actually raising questions only to my views, expressing complete consent to what was being spoken by all the others, I thought my personal blog would be the best place to express what I wanted to convey during the debate, for which I wasn’t given a chance!

First come first – The statistics presented during the graphics! There were figures on abduction of women for beggary and other things. My first question – Aren’t young boys being abducted and victimized for beggary? The famous film Slum Dog Millionaire showed the harsh reality of how young boys are kidnapped, blinded so that they can beg for powerful people in the society. Shouldn’t we raise a voice for that? I am sorry I think I am raising a wrong point here as the show is about crime on women. Why am I even talking about issues of Men? I would have been blasted had I raised this point there..

Yes situations have changed….one can no more utter a word against women and talk about rights of men!

So….NDTV presented another statistic of “47% women getting married before the age of 18 years.” If we talk about if things have changed, I am doubtful. For things to change, the problem has to be cut from the root. But…sadly, parents of these girls who are married at such a tender age are not arrested and put behind bars. Rather, when these girls disagree to stay in her husband’s house, the entire blame is shifted on the boy’s family …be it Dowry, Violence or anything else. My fellow panelists keep talking about drawbacks of patriarchal attitude. Where does it all begin? Isn’t it true that the actual patriarchal attitude begins at home? Then why most of the troubles reported are at in-laws home only?

Yes situations have changed – Earlier girls parents used to worry about the guy for their daughter, now boy’s parents are worried about the girl for their son!

During discussion, the anchor of the show says that most of the perpetrators of these crimes are these men in families who have a normal life but are abusers as well. I ask everyone reading this blog…..how many times in your life did your father slap you? How many times your mother did? I don’t need to know the answer because I have seen enough teachers in the schools beating kids black and blue. There are ample of reports that suggest boys are sexually assaulted more than girls and a large percentage of these abusers are females. Then why we never raise an issue about punishment to these females as well?  These females are also a part of the family only but abusers as well. Why no one talks about crimes by women?

Yes situations have changed….No law is punishing man and woman equally. Women have all rights to commit crime and even then walk scot free…

Talking about teachers, I remember when I was in school, our class teacher was so rigid and adamant, talking to her for anything was a waste of time….She could never bother to listen to what we students or other teachers said, was so righteous, could never be wrong about anything as per her. This debate and one of the panelists made me remember my school teacher. I of course need not mention who I am talking about!

Anyways, so the leading advocate present on the panel says that a lot of things have changed (newspapers are reporting all false cases only in that case as numbers only seem to be rising but she says things have changed!), especially the reporting of crime against women has increased. I remember when I started working on the documentary ‘Martyrs of Marriage’, there were at least 5-6 cases of Dowry harassment in newspapers every day. Since the rape case in Delhi, newspapers today are nothing less short of Rape Files. Dowry harassment issue has somewhere taken a back seat. Aren’t there any dowry crimes happening now? Why no reporting then? How can the media keep a bias between different aspects of crime against women? I don’t wish to overtly express but we all know opinion of most of the people as far as Dowry cases are concerned.  False and fabricated matrimonial issues have somewhere fallen low in priority, even for media when the horde is to collect as many rape case stories as possible. Not to forget, while looking for real stories, a lot of false cases have also come in light. Thanks to this unending hunt of media for the truth of crime against women….My fellow panelists say only when a woman has had enough, does she go and files a report in the police station…During my multiple visits to Women Cells in Delhi, I see only boys crying in those stations and girls laughing out loud on the condition of their husbands….one doesn’t need too much of intelligence to understand such cases. So the actual change that has come is…in the name of women empowerment, anyone and everyone is being considered a culprit, thrashed, reprimanded, whether guilty or not….AND THIS IS ONLY GOING TO INCREASE, thanks to the new laws being enacted. Women Empowerment is important but not at the cost of someone’s life or dignity. If a woman has the right to live, a man also has the right to his dignity, reputation and life. It is high time that people address the issue of false allegations else even genuine cases will also be looked down upon.

Yes situations have changed – statement of a woman is the gospel truth!

The senior police official on the panel talks about taking help from NGO’s at the ground level. I need to tell madam something – In a recent sting operation by a news channel in Bangalore, an NGO was threadbare exposed extorting money in the name of women empowerment. The journalist who posed as the boyfriend of the aggrieved girl (who was also a journalist) was asked to pay lacs of rupees to the NGO so that they can settle the case. The NGO advised the journo to file a rape case if the boy doesn’t pay and also demanded money from girl to set the boy straight. This all…based on a concocted story by the girl! This is one such case. Not sure how many cases are being handled in the same manner around India where these women rights, women empowerment NGO’s are withdrawing millions of rupees in the name of helping the victims and in turn exploiting those girls asking money.  The irony – boys always consider them guilty – even in consensual acts, and think it’s better to pay up and get rid of it rather than banging their head in the wall. I am sure these NGO’s have a lot of support from the Police! Watch the sting operation video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehgAO8huQRs

Yes situations have changed – now extortion is happening legally and in full eyes of police and judiciary.

My respected teacher…errrr….Advocate says Women and violence can’t go hand in hand. I think she’s completely forgotten about the infamous ‘Gulabi Gang’ – women who have openly taken sticks and rods in their hands to beat the crap out of men. I wonder where violence hasn’t existed with women movement. Women NGO’s have openly tied up with the Police to get husbands beaten black in blue in alleged cases of violence. I know of cases where people have got acquittal in matrimonial cases but they can never forget the torture meted out to them in the Police station and Jails. Today, it’s enough for a woman to just say that she has been victimized. Half of the investigation ends over there itself. Remaining half happens depending upon who gives more money to the police officials. The entire system is so corrupt. And when Police Madam says that people need to be afraid of the judiciary and not police, I am amused. Everyone knows what being dragged in a court case means today. Years of waiting to get justice, be it a man or a woman. Cases are being run for years and the only one benefitting out of them are the lawyers! People are afraid of police because they have not been the friends of the society. Corruption is so deep rooted in these systems that a normal man can never think about justice.

Yes situations have changed…Now you have to pay for crimes that your ancestors committed!

Now, our dear anchor says that a woman has to be treated as a human being first and not as a mother, sister or some other role. I beg to ask, aren’t men also entitled to the being treated as humans? When I share the data from NCRB that every year more than 60,000 married men commit suicide, teacher jee interrupts and tell me that’s farmer suicide included. Okay, point taken. Aren’t farmers humans? Let’s leave that also away. I must ask my mam to take a look at the statistics properly. NCRB data also lists suicides profession wise. Farmer only constitutes an average of 10-12% of this number. More than 50,000 suicides are still of non-farmers. What would she say about them? And why aren’t the women punished who drive them to commit suicide even if there are only 100 such cases? Why a man is presumed guilty every time a crime is reported? If a man slaps a woman, we presume that it’s his patriarchal attitude that forces him to do so but when a woman beats a man, it is seen as an act of empowerment. If a man has been abusive and a woman retorts, it’s fine. What about the cases in which a woman is the abuser? If a man goes and reports, he is shooed away from the Police station and made a subject of mockery! Isn’t that patriarchy deep rooted in the mind of women and men too? Why not abolish that mindset that only a man can be the perpetrator of crime and woman a victim? How many women today are ready to run a household and see their husbands sitting at home because of various which reasons? A man is supposed to maintain an ailing wife, an adulterous wife, a wife who is not willing to run the family as per cultures of that family but at the same time if a man is sick, adulterous, not able to do a job, he is looked down upon by the entire eco system. Eventually he ends up in a soup of litigations. When a man is a drunkard and adulterous, he is ridiculed by entire society. On the other side, women going out and drinking is considered as a sign of freedom and independence. When women are fighting for their rights, are they fighting for exactly those things that they have been ridiculing the men for – whether its crime, corruption, disrespectful behavior and abusive attitude? What’s the fight really about? Why this bias if we are trying to be so equal?

Yes situations have changed – Men don’t have any human rights!

This report from Ministry of Women and Child Development (http://wcd.nic.in/childabuse.pdf) sites a statistic by UN that 150 million girls and 73 million boys are physically or mentally abused. We always raise a big hue and cry for these abuses when it’s related to a girl child, but how much for a boy child? It’s an irony that the report, when citing data for India, quotes data from NCRB related to rape, procurement of minor girls, selling and buying girls for prostitution etc. and completely ignores the large number of boys that are used for child labor, sex, beggary and other crimes. The report states that the data is suggestive as many cases go unreported; I beg to ask how many crimes related to boys are actually reported or are highlighted in the media? The same report cites a research conducted by Save the Children in 2006. It mentions 48% of boys and 39% of girls faced sexual abuse. We talk passionately about this 39% but how serious are we about the other 48%?

Yes situations have changed – now people will start killing baby boys when they are born!

(The biggest faux pas of the show) Now, My teacher ( I think I should consider her that since she has taught me so many wrong lessons) makes a very sad comparison of my point that ‘crores are being spent on preventing crime against women, but crimes are increasing’ to ‘crores are being spent on army but still wars are happening.’ An utter underestimation of the great work our army is doing and a ridiculous argument. The sheer fact that we were sitting in that studio and speaking our hearts out was because of our army protecting us on the borders. Government is spending crores of rupees not to control wars but safeguard their citizen which is happening. The more the money the more they are equipped to combat the enemies. When you are spending so much money…accountability is what is asked for!

Yes situations have changed – Men have also started speaking up about atrocities on them..and if you can’t accept that then you are the biggest patriarch!

In the end, the anchor again interrupts me when I am actually talking about Human rights, telling that we are not talking about women rights but human rights. When we are giving so many rights that today several cases are coming where those rights have been used to harp on other’s rights, is it justified? If a woman is not able to continue in a relationship, she has the rights to break it and go. However if a man wants to discontinue a relationship, he is always splattered with endless cases. Why? Only a female has the right to discontinue a relationship? A man doesn’t have the right to? To this point of mine, a standard Operating procedure (which Police madam was demanding) of all the feminists is…Women have been discriminated for years…I am so tired with this argument that at last I feel I am now gonna say in front of all the boys that since your grand grand father slapped your grand grand mother, you will now be slapped by this society wherever you go :p ….No wonder a senior women politician on a famous show said “It’s now time for men to Suffer”

Last, but not the least, I wish to tell my teacher that no one here is asking a woman to sacrifice her life to run the family…all we are saying is dun empower those who are hell bent on destroying the families. If a woman is really tortured, she must not let the perpetrator of that crime go free….but we all know what bargains are today happening in court premises in the name of mediation. Can money suffice for the tortures? Can 50 lacs or 1 crore compensate for her pain? If yes, I have all my right to doubt that pain. Also, like my teacher asked me to go and help out all those who are a sufferer of misuse of law, like the terror law (I hope she realizes POTA has been repealed) , I also request her to punish the women who misuse the law as much as she is rooting for punishing the men who commit the crime.

My teacher herself accepted that the root cause of the problem are lawyers….I ask her, CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY….HAVE THE LAWYERS CHANGED?

Situations have not changed – Our Judiciary is the same and our Police are the same!

There were two instances when you had nearly got them by #E$@$# but due to the accurate timing of the advocate and due to the abrupt blockage by the hostess, your argument was cut short

Excellent blog , all know the truth but do not dare to speak .

  13. Shaan says:

Well said everyone along with the author. Dear Mr. Author, where we live in is called a society, and the latest meaning of society is “myth”. A society should comprise of responsible men and women who unbiasedly solve problems when one approaches it, but now a days nothing in the universe is unbiased. Everything is biased, right from the people to the media, from the court to the law, why I didn’t name police cos right from my childhood when i was told about police I had only two videos running in my mind, taking money or beating. When I grew up and learned about the duties of police I was completely astonished cos that was the first instance when i learned about corruption.

I am very much in the same platform as the author when I try to reconcile my personal life with the words written by you mr. author. It seemed to me as if the author heard me like god and depicted everything into this site. Through my personal experience, I have seen men returning home drunk in the villages and the entire village people coming up and beating the hell out of him, however when his wife was caught by his husband with another guy in his absence, only he is the person who is beating his wife but very few villagers caring to intrude into the situation. The person who finally intruded into the situation actually went to save the woman and scolded the man that he might kill her and if she is doing that then he himself is responsible for that. STRANGE and ASTONISHING!!!.

Why was the woman not responsible for his drinking and why was the man responsible for her spoiled nature? No answers. Not only in villages this scene once came to me in the cities as well.

If u say that the people in the villages are in-educated, but then the people in the cities were educated. Why was the men always to be blamed and why the woman always cuts a a sorry figure?

Once I posted something supporting women empowerment, all the contacts in my friends list appreciated it and liked it. All the women were happy and about 50 % of the men as well liked it.
The very next day I posted about 498a and men suffering. No comments were found. Only one fat lady supporting it wildly. The women in my friend’s list sent me personal messages that I should not indulge in such nuisance like men’s rights or men suffering or crime against men. While to my astonishment all the men in my contacts kept silent all the time and none of them dared write a word against a woman.

It’s only then that I learned that the women are united and the men are not. That’s the reason why men are suffering and why we are unable to push the govt. to make a law in our favor or at least an unbiased law..

The law makers in our country really need to be given noble prizes for it’s really very difficult indeed to make biased laws and kill one particular gender.

There are many other things which I wanted to say but then the topic would be different I would get into the laws and the Hindu marriage act, but then there too the women have all the privilege of the govt. and the men are treated like insects.

Let’s put up a proposal for the woman’s activist and such NGO’s. They say that since ages the women have been kept inside the houses and have been suffering. So I would propose to all woman in the universe. Let’s change duties, for your sake.

1.We men will take care of the house hold and u must earn for us. Do u dare accept? ( since the men have been doing this for ages).

    2. Similarly since the roles have been reciprocating so let’s reciprocate the laws. Article 498a will not be meant for saving house-wife from husband but then from tomorrow will save the house-husband from the wife. Do u dare accept? ( since the men have been facing this difficulty since many a years since the law has been made).

Dare accept the challenge ………………….. I ask all women in the universe including my wife who plans to play one 498a against me as well.

    • vinayak says:

why can’t WE , men, stop getting married in a hurry ? We check 10 times before buying atta, we check 20 times before buying a mobile phone, we ask all sorts of questions and read reviews before booking a holiday …. all above are easily reversible things …. do we do the same search THROUGH INDIAN LAWS before marriage ?

      do *we* ?

      • Shaan says:

Vinayak well said …… but the matter of fact is there is no website where we can find reviews about any girl, especially if she doesn’t have a FB or a website.

In fact I believe we should not marry such a woman about whom we don’t have any knowledge or any feedback from any relatives especially in case of arranged marriage.

And in case of love marriage, the men must not get carried away with the physical beauty, but should sharply observe her compatibility and thought process, take enough time read her and then finally decide to get married.

  14. Yashna Chawla says:

SUPERB DEEPIKA YOU HAVE PUT ACROSS THE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS SO WELL. IF ONLY ALL THESE FEMINISTS REALISED WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND WHERE ALL THIS WILL ULTIMATELY LEAD US TO IN THE END. YOU HAVE THE COMPLETE SET OF THOSE PANELISTS WHO GANGED UP AGAINST YOU THAT DAY ON THE DEBATE JUST BEACAUSE YOU WERE STATING THE TRUTH. BUT LETS FACE FACTS IN INDIA NOBODY EVER SUPPORTS THE TRUTH,ONLY A COUNTED FEW DOTHAT. THE REST JUST FOLLOW WHATEVER IS TOLD TO THEM AND THEY TAKE THAT ON FACE VALUE WITHOUT THINKING FOR THEMSELVES.

    • Men's Rights says:

You cannot expect anything from mainstream media especially NDTV which are funded by feminist groups and are having their own social and political agendas. The panelists are all stage managed. Barkha Dutt is a big comic character who seeks to push her feminist ideology.

  15. Nick says:

Well – said. And this is just the tip of the Iceberg of the problem in our society.
Instead of any gender or class, we need to identify & punish the defaulter, perpetrator of the crime, whosoever ( male or female, wife’s or husband’s relative, provided the alleged crime is true & proved to be truly so, by an un-biased Court.
What she is trying to say, is that, the women from the husband’s families are not treated / classified as ‘Women’ & entitled to reliefs as a wife is ( by default ). Only his wife is classified as abla / needy / requiring protection of such monstrous laws in the name of ‘dowry’, and not his mother or sisters ( aged from 2yrs to 90 yrs ), forget the aged fathers of the husband.
Why doesn’t the Govt. give up its hypocrisy & classify only ‘wives’ as women, who can be harassed & the rest of females, as criminals by default.
    Dr.Nick

  16. Surbhi says:

    Hi Deepika,

I have read your blog and I have seen the NDTV footage.

Your intentions are most probably noble, and your cause just, but I believe, you are trying to fight it in the wrong arena.

You ought to understand, that, as Vrinda Grover mentioned, no one is trying to demonize men. Crime against women is a blatant reality in India, the reason is average Indian mindset.

I agree that some women may misuse laws, but that does not mean we will stop creating laws for the betterment of the majority of the society.
Yes you may fight against corruption, so that people[and not just women] are unable to misuse laws

But having such views and airing them on national television will mostly bring you flak.

Just an add on: I have been reading your blogs/ comment etc, and somehow I get a feeling that you are taking things personally. You must not be emotional. You have to act rational at this level.

    • xpressionsDeepika says:

Please go and read those 48 laws that have already been made to protect women and prevent crimes and then lets have an argument on what’s remaining. Also read Double Jeopardy in language of laws. I am not afraid of getting flak for speaking the truth. Please read news of days before where our honorable Law Minister himself is succumbing to pressure by women organizations, openly accepting the misuse of law and saying he can’t do anything about it. I am not taking anything personal. But fighting for a cause, no one has the guts to accept it the way it is…..And…like feminists are not demonizing men…I am not saying crime against women is not happening! PS: You think US has a very progressive mindset…please read up on the rate of crimes there…just talking about rape..its 24% higher than India. You said something about the mindset…..

      • Men's Rights says:

I wish to correct you on two counts. Feminists demonise men to the max. Secondly, the crime stats of rape in the US is also because of false rape cases. A man dates a woman and she files a rape case because the relationship broke – kind of cases. Or marital rape cases there. The same is true of India. This does not mean genuine rape cases are not occuring. It simply means that men are becoming victims of feminazi laws.

    • vinayak says:

After reading Surbhi’s reply all I can say “….hello Indian men !! When you and your brothers get raped, “…don’t take it personally…” ; PS : advise ONLY to men

    • Shaan says:

      Surabhi ji,

I think u mean killing of 8 innocent men is right for teaching lessons to two criminal men !. That means ur mind set says that instead of searching and killing terroirsts one should blow the entire nation of the terrorists right, is that your mindset?

Please Surabhi ji, the statistics have changed since the day 498 has been made. The news channels only speak of the suicides of woman but double the men commit suicide due to 498a those are compoletely wiped off from their sheets. Thats the reason u dont get to know about the fact that crimes of women on men is more in number than the crimes of men on women.

please wake up everyone. These are criminal cases and need to be proceeded with neutral laws and not with biased laws. Biased laws can never bring an end to injustice.

And regarding corruption why should the laws be made in ur favour and we fight? why not they be made in our favour and u fight !!!

      • Men's Rights says:

Surbhi kind of people need to look at their own flawed mindset before blaming others.

Coming to statistics, let me tell you one of the reasons I know why there is no proper data on crimes committed by women against men. When a woman goes to a police station to file a complaint against a man, the law mandates the police to book a case or several cases without any need for evidence. The case thus registered is cognisable, non-bailable and non-compoundable (in some cases). So, it means that even if the case is false, the case is registered and it in turn gets shown up in the national crimes record bureau (NCRB) as a crime against a woman. There is no mechanism to delete those cases in case the courts find them to be false.

On the other hand, if a man goes to a police station and complains against a woman, the police can at best file a non-cognisable complaint (which means, no cognisance is taken). Needless to say that there is no arrest and hence no question of bail requirement. These complaints do not get reflected in the NCRB statistics even if they are true.

This apart, the laws themselves are so biased in favour of women that crimes against men can never be registered. So Surbhi like people need to know that as per law, man has no rights at all when compared to woman. This is called gender equality in Indian society by emotionally blind, deaf men and women.

    • Men's Rights says:

@Surbhi, please do not ever tell that nobody is trying to demonise men. Feminism seeks to do exactly that! And it seeks to divide society into men and women by instigating women to fight men, thus destroying society. Man-bashing is the most popular sport now after cricket and soccor. Feminists should feel ashamed that they are spreading hatred against men while claiming to be moral custodians.

You have said that crime against women is a blatant reality and that it happens because of average Indian mindset. Let me tell you that crimes against men is also a blatant reality but your average Indian mindset makes you think that it does not happen. Your average Indian mindset and those of millions of other Indians encourages such crimes against men. The average Indian mindset of millions of Indians makes crimes against men a joke. When a wife/woman harasses or troubles/slaps/beats her husband, your average Indian mindset seeks to laugh about it and make fun of it. The same average Indian mindset gets emotinally surcganred when a man attacks a woman in the same way. So, please look at yourself in the mirror and find for yourself your mindset which is truly average. So average that it seeks rights alone for women and responsibilities alone for men.

You have claimed that some women misuse laws. Do you know that many more women harass men at homes, offices, businesses? Many more women cheat men and those men feel helpless as they have to confront a woman! And our society is obsessed with women and any complaint by a man against a woman is not taken seriously even in cheating cases.

And who told you that the laws are for the betterment of the majority of society? Laws are made for extortion, to harass the vulnerable (men are indeed vulnarable now due to lack of unity). Sections of the IPC related to women are all heavily biased against men. They cannot be for the good of society when one section of society is discriminated. Feminists have lost all moral rights to claim to be standing for humanity and gender equality.

Lastly, it takes real guts to speak the truth and against political correctness. Just because there is a mad mob out there which supports feminism does not make it correct. It simply means that society is an emotional fool; society is emotionally blind that it cannot see things logically. I really appreciate this article and the guts of this person who has chosen to speak the truth and dared the lynch mob outside.

    • Men's Rights says:

Feminism in the guise of liberty for women has destroyed social and cultural fabric of Europe, United States, Russia and other developed countries. In Islamic and oriental societies, women performed a critical function of stabilizing the basic unit of society called family. Women are the crown of creation. Feminism stripped them of all the crowing glory that God bestowed upon them.
The ultimate goal of feminism has been stated very clear – to attack the root of society, that is, the family and destroy it! Below are extracts of statements by well-known feminists.

THE PLANNED DESTRUCTION OF THE FAMILY BY FEMINISTS
“Destroy the family,” as Lenin said, “and you destroy society.” Thereby he merely repeated what Socrates had said before and what Friedrich Engels and Karl Marx put into words. Lenin set out to do just that, hoping that a new society — with the State as the ultimate father — could be constructed.

“How will the family unit be destroyed? … the demand alone will throw the whole ideology of the family into question, so that women can begin establishing a community of work with each other and we can fight collectively. Women will feel freer to leave their husbands and become economically independent, either through a job or welfare.”

      — Female Liberation, by Roxanne Dunbar.

“The nuclear family must be destroyed, and people must find better ways of living together. … Whatever its ultimate meaning, the break-up of families now is an objectively revolutionary process. … “Families have supported oppression by separating people into small, isolated units, unable to join together to fight for common interests. …

      — Functions of the Family,
Linda Gordon, WOMEN: A Journal of Liberation, Fall, 1969.

“Feminists have long criticized marriage as a place of oppression, danger, and drudgery for women.”

      — Is Marriage the Answer?
by Barbara Findlen, Ms magazine, May-June, 1995

“[The nuclear family is] a cornerstone of woman’s oppression: it enforces women’s dependence on men, it enforces heterosexuality and it imposes the prevailing masculine and feminine character structures on the next generation.”

      — Alison Jagger, Feminist Politics and Human Nature

“The first class opposition that appears in history coincides with the development of the antagonism between man and woman in monogamous marriage, and the first class oppression coincides with that of the female sex by the male.”

      — Frederick Engels, The Origins of the Family, Private Property and the State
      (New York, International Publishers,1942) p.58]

    • Men's Rights says:

Read these anti-male statements by notorious feminists

Under patriarchy, every woman’s son is her betrayer and also the inevitable rapist or exploiter of another woman.

      – Andrea Dworkin

Men who are unjustly accused of rape can sometime gain from the experience.

      – Catherine Comins, Vassar College

To be male is to be a kind of idiot savant

      – Germaine Greer

All men are rapists and that’s all they are

      – Marilyn French

still, feminists say that”they are not doing anything harmful”.

it’s time to not to believe in feminism anymore.

“I believe that women have a capacity for understanding and compassion which a man structurally does not have, does not have it because he cannot have it. He’s just incapable of it.” – Former Congresswoman Barbara Jordan

“All men are rapists and that’s all they are” – Marilyn French, Author, “The Women’s Room”

“I feel that ‘man-hating’ is an honorable and viable political act, that the oppressed have a right to class-hatred against the class that is oppressing them.” – Robin Morgan, MS. Magazine Editor

“I claim that rape exists any time sexual intercourse occurs when it has not been initiated by the woman, out of her own genuine affection and desire.” – Robin Morgan

“And let’s put one lie to rest for all time: the lie that men are oppressed, too, by sexism–the lie that there can be such a thing as ‘men’s liberation groups.’ Oppression is something that one group of people commits against another group, specifically because of a ‘threatening’ characteristic shared by the latter group–skin color, sex or age, etc. The oppressors are indeed FUCKED UP by being masters, but those masters are not OPPRESSED. Any master has the alternative of divesting himself of sexism or racism–the oppressed have no alternative–for they have no power–but to fight. In the long run, Women’s Liberation will of course free men–but in the short run it’s going to cost men a lot of privilege, which no one gives up willingly or easily. Sexism is NOT the fault of women–kill your fathers, not your mothers.” – Robin Morgan

“My feelings about men are the result of my experience. I have little sympathy for them. Like a Jew just released from Dachau, I watch the handsome young Nazi soldier fall writhing to the ground with a bullet in his stomach and I look briefly and walk on. I don’t even need to shrug. I simply don’t care. What he was, as a person, I mean, what his shames and yearnings were, simply don’t matter.” – Marilyn French, in “The Women’s Room”

*MALE: … represents a variant of or deviation from the category of female. The first males were mutants… the male sex represents a degeneration and deformity of the female.’ *MAN: … an obsolete life form… an ordinary creature who needs to be watched … a contradictory baby-man … *TESTOSTERONE POISONING: … ‘Until now it has been though that the level of testosterone in men is normal simply because they have it. But if you consider how abnormal their behavior is, then you are led to the hypothesis that almost all men are suffering from “testosterone poisoning.”

“Who cares how men feel or what they do or whether they suffer? They have had over 2000 years to dominate and made a complete hash of it. Now it is our turn. My only comment to men is, if you don’t like it, bad luck — and if you get in my way I’ll run you down.” Signed: Liberated Woman, Boronia Herald-Sun, Melbourne, Australia – 9 February 1996

“No woman should be authorized to stay at home to raise her children. Society should be totally different. Women should not have that choice, precisely because if there is such a choice, too many women will make that one.” Simone de Beauvoir, author of _The Second Sex_, the book that is credited with launching the mainstream of the modern feminist movement —

Our demand is not for equality. Who wants to be like men! We are trying as women to define ourselves. We not only reject the definitions that men have given us, but reject becoming like men. –From WOMEN OF THE WORLD UNITE — WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BUT OUR MEN! [In] Notes from the First Year. New York: The New York Radical Women, 1968.

“It is men’s turn to suffer” – Renuka Chowdhary on National television speaking about the Domestic Violence Act.
“It is not such a bad idea, except that I have such pity for men.” – Renuka Chowdhary when Karan Thapar (on a CNN-IBN interview) asked her if she thought that men should first suffer before she considers amendments to check misuse of the law.

This is a wonderful write-up showcasing the male perspective and how feminists have misguided society into believing one-sided, half truths and how they have cherry picked the convenient portions of tradition (I do not believe that there existed something called “patriarchy” which was nothing but feminist invention) to suit to their advantage while kicking the inconvenient portions. Feminists kick tradition in the day and sleep with it at night. I am glad that there are some REAL WOMEN like this blogger who speak the truth and who speak for men, have a healthy attitude towards men unlike the vast majority of women who have learnt how to hate men and spread their venom in society. I have come across many women in my life (all Indian women) and they are a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. They are all the same – man-hating feminists, half-feminists, quasi-feminists, ameteur feminists, full-time feminists, extreme feminazis………very few women are non-feminists in India – urban India, in particular. Male hatred seems to be in the genes of today’s women who claim to be abla naris, seek equality and same time want special rights and privileges.

Will our women ever understand the conspiracy behind this feminist movement?

    very good post…

  19. Shaan says:

    Dear Feminist organizations and NGOs’:

The more you try to suppress the human rights of men the more they will develop emotional distress and mental trauma, the more suicide attempts, and people who are afraid of loss of dignity tend to commit crimes like murders and then suicide. This is not the problem with only the men but with both the genders. The biggest drawback of the Indian Laws is that it tends to push the individual towards crime. Actual criminals finally surrender in-order to get rid of the guilty feeling and the ultimate fear that he won’t be spared because he has done a crime. But you cannot tell an innocent man to accept the crimes which he has not done, since forcefully imposing those things into his brains will increase the emotional distress and the mental trauma will ultimately lead him to commit crimes like murder and then suicide. It’s a feeling like ” why should I go to jail for a crime I have not committed?” so finally he commits it as he know he has to go to the jail anyways.

Hence these latest amendments in the criminal laws have not been able to reduce crime but it ignites the animal within a man, which tends to damage the person’s family who unitedly have damaged his family.

A society cannot be run trying to overlook the facts. Myths if tried to forcefully be made universal truths then the balance is lost and a dis-balanced nation is created with a dis-balanced society where darkness (crime) prevails and the sun (justice) is covered with the clouds of uncertainty (the murder of human rights).

It’s of utmost importance to understand that men did-not rise from drains and women did-not rise from oceans of milk, both have a common source of origination, the physical composition of both are the same and both are obsessed with common feelings. If you try to consider only the crimes men commit on women(rape, physical harrasment, etc…), then it will be unjust since more crimes are committed by women on men(misuse of 498a). Hence if you try to make laws for the protection of women only then there must be laws made for the protection of men as well. No doubt Rape is a curse on the society where the dignity of a woman is hampered extensively but then misuse of 498a also hampers the dignity of the man, his old mother(who is a woman too), his old father, his sister or sister in law (who again are woman), his brothers or brother-in-laws and many more. If you do-not repent from committing these kind of criminal offenses then that makes you a CRIMINAL too.

If you cannot accept a politician with a criminal background to be on the seat then how can we accept you to sit on responsible seats and force the Govt. to create shitty laws? You can never bring justice to the people of any nation if you are biased. Someone who is biased has to fall some day, It’s just the beginning of the revolution for seeking the rights of men. This revolution is ultimately going to multiply by the millisecond unless it creates a demon which has the power to engulf the organizations and NGOs’ who try to make crime legal.

Please understand if you try to legalize crime, you are trying to destroy the society, and it’s quite familiar that without a healthy society we cannot create a healthy nation.

Please look both the genders with equal eyes and catch the criminals from both the genders.

I just imagine if people like you could become the PM of India one day you are definitely going to kill all the men in the nation and India will become the place of women.

Let’s see if you need men then !!!

  20. Shaan says:

The latest amendment in the Laws say that “men cannot stare at a girl” it’s a non bailable crime.

So dear men be cautious about looking at anything, make sure the add u are looking at at the road site doesn’t have a women standing beside it else u r gonna be jailed and no-one can take u out.

Dear Women, please forgive us since we are not gonna propose you for love any more, because the men now know that if u complain it to the police we are gonna be jailed.

Dear Men, please come out at the streets late at night, so late when women in your city prefer to sleep, cos if you accidentally fall behind a woman in the street you are gonna be jailed.

Dear Men, please search for an abandoned island since very soon India is gonna be called the “LAND OF WOMEN” since all the men in this country will gradually be killed.

  21. Sanjiv says:

A very well written and appropriate blog. I always knew that the media was behind TRP ratings and as such they are compelled to be biased, otherwise, no one would appreciate their channel. Have been following Times of India and the same thing happens there. Even where not required, any story becomes protrayed as “abla nari-cruel male” story.
The Indian mindset off late is that, if we speak up for women’s rights we are portraying to be modern and level headed. If we speak of gender equality, it would mean that we are typical losers and MCP’s. I always learnt from childhood that one who climbs the mountains has to climb down as well. Everything has its peak. More women oriented and biased laws, more misuse, more male victims. If this is the way a society has to learn, then we are nearing a disaster
